Connect ActiveCampaign to create or update contacts and tag them when they register, show up, reach a watch milestone or click your offer. Those tags can then start your ActiveCampaign automations.
Get your details from ActiveCampaign
You need two things: your Account URL and your API key. Both are on one page.
- In ActiveCampaign, click Settings in the lower-left corner.
- Choose Developer.
- Copy the URL. It looks like
https://youraccount.api-us1.com. - Copy the Key.
The key belongs to the ActiveCampaign user you’re signed in as. If that user is later removed, the connection stops working, so use an account that will stay around.
Connect ActiveCampaign to FullHouse
Enter your details
Go to Workspace → Integrations, find ActiveCampaign and click Connect. Paste Account URL and API key, then click Connect. The key is stored encrypted and never shown again.
Test it
Click Test connection. The card should say “Connection verified”. If it doesn’t, see Fix connection problems.
Bring your tags over
Click Sync tags. The card shows how many tags were copied.
If the Account URL is refused, “Use a public HTTPS URL without credentials or a fragment.” shows under the field. It must be a full https:// address, with nothing after the domain, and no more than 200 characters.
Create your tags in ActiveCampaign
You can’t create ActiveCampaign tags from FullHouse. Create them there first, then click Sync tags.
Only contact tags appear, so tags for other things, such as deals, are left out. FullHouse loads the first 100 tags ActiveCampaign returns. If you have more and yours is missing, there’s currently no way to reach it from the picker, so tidy up old tags in ActiveCampaign, or use webhooks with a tool such as Zapier instead.
Add a rule to a webinar
Open the Automations step
Go to Webinars → your webinar → Automations and click Add automation.
Choose the trigger
Pick an action under When an attendee…. For Watches at least…, also choose a percentage.
Choose ActiveCampaign and your tags
Under Send to, choose ActiveCampaign. Tick up to 20 tags under Apply tags. Click Refresh tags if a new tag is missing. You must choose at least one.
Save
Leave Active on and click Add automation.
See Automations for more about rules.
What FullHouse sends to ActiveCampaign
When a rule fires, FullHouse does two things, once per person per rule:
- Creates or updates the contact, matched by email address, with their first name, last name and phone number. Answers to custom questions and UTM values aren’t sent.
- Adds each tag you chose.
FullHouse can only add tags. It can’t remove them or add someone to a list or automation directly, so use a tag to start an ActiveCampaign automation.
Test the whole flow
- Make a rule with the Registers trigger.
- Register for your webinar using an email address you can check.
- In ActiveCampaign, find the contact and look for the tag. It normally arrives within moments.
Each rule fires once per person, so use a new email address, such as [email protected], for each test.
Fix connection problems
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Integration returned HTTP 401. or HTTP 403. | The key is wrong, or the user it belongs to was removed. Copy the key again and click Update credentials. |
| Integration request failed. | Usually a mistyped Account URL. Copy it again from Settings → Developer. |
| ActiveCampaign returned no contact ID. | ActiveCampaign didn’t confirm the contact. It’s retried automatically. |
| No tags cached yet — hit “Refresh tags” to pull them from ActiveCampaign. | Click Refresh tags, or create a tag first. |
| Choose between 1 and 20 tags. | A rule needs at least one tag and no more than 20. |
| Integration returned HTTP 404. on a rule | The tag was probably deleted. Edit the rule and choose another. |
For anything else, see When an automation fails.
Disconnect ActiveCampaign
Click Disconnect on the card and confirm. Rules that use ActiveCampaign stay in place but fail with “Integration is not connected for this workspace.” until you reconnect. Contacts and tags already in ActiveCampaign aren’t changed.
