Details

Set your webinar's internal name, public title, web address, presenter and how times are shown.

Updated View as Markdown

Details holds the basics: what the webinar is called, where it lives, who’s presenting and how the registration page shows times. Open it from Webinars → your webinar → Set up → Details.

Nothing here is locked after you publish. If you change the web address, old links keep working. See Change the URL slug.

Fields

Field Required Limit What it does
Internal name Yes 120 characters Your name for the webinar, shown in the Webinars list and header. Attendees never see it.
Public title Yes 160 characters The name attendees see, on the thank-you page, in the room and in emails as {{webinar_title}}. It’s also the registration page heading if you leave the headline blank, and the browser tab title.
URL slug Yes 80 characters The last part of your public address. See below.
Description No 5,000 characters What attendees will learn. See Where the description appears.
Presenter name No 100 characters Shown with the presenter’s photo on the registration page, thank-you page and in the room. Also available in emails as {{presenter_name}}.
Presenter title No 120 characters Shown after the name, such as “Founder, Acme Academy”.
Presenter photo URL No 500 characters An image address starting with https://. Paste one, or use Choose from Media.
Time display Yes Visitor’s local time (the default) or Fixed timezone. See Choose how times are shown.

The Details step gets its green tick when Public title and Presenter name are both filled in. You can publish without a presenter, but the presenter line then disappears from your pages.

Remember to choose Save changes when you’re done. The preview beside the form updates as you type.

Add a presenter

The presenter appears as a small line with a round photo, the name and the title. Attendees see it on the registration page, on the ticket on the thank-you page and in the room.

  • If you enter a name with no photo, FullHouse shows the presenter’s initials in your brand colour.
  • If you leave the name blank, the whole line is hidden, even if you’ve added a photo or title.

To use an image you’ve uploaded, choose Choose from Media. Pick an image, or use Upload new to add a PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP. FullHouse fills in the Presenter photo URL for you. A square photo works best, since it’s cropped to a circle. See Media library.

The address must start with https://. Anything else shows “Enter a valid HTTPS URL.”

Set the URL slug

The slug is the part of your public address after /w/. A slug of spring-launch gives you:

https://showtell.live/w/spring-launch

FullHouse generates one when you create the webinar, using the name plus eight random characters. Replace it with something short and readable before you start sharing the link.

Rules:

  • Letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores only. Anything else shows “Use letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores.”
  • It must be unique across FullHouse, not only within your workspace, and addresses other webinars have used in the past count as taken. If it’s taken, you’ll see “This address is already in use.”

Pick something you won’t need to change, and avoid dates or versions you might outgrow.

The note under the field reads “Old links keep working if you change this. They send people to the new address.”

Change the URL slug

You can change the slug at any time, including on a live webinar. FullHouse keeps every address a webinar has had, and sends anyone using an old one to the same page on the current address.

This covers the old registration link, embed code you’ve pasted on another site, and the personal join, replay and calendar links in emails and calendar events people already have. Sign-up forms left open across the change keep working, and tracking values in the link are kept. Emails that haven’t gone out yet use the new slug.

You do this What happens
Change the slug The old slug stays reserved for this webinar. Anyone else trying it sees “This address is already in use.”
Go back to an earlier slug That one becomes current, and the one it replaces redirects.
Delete the webinar Its current and old slugs become free for anyone to use.

Where the description appears

The description is written into the calendar file (.ics) attendees can download, above their join link. That covers the Apple / Outlook button on the thank-you page and {{calendar_link}} in emails. The hint under the field reads “Added to the calendar file attendees can download.”

The description isn’t shown on the registration page, so use the subheadline and bullet points for what visitors should read there. The Google Calendar button adds only the title, the time and the join link.

Choose how times are shown

Time display controls the session times visitors see on your registration page and embedded form.

Option What visitors see When to use it
Visitor’s local time Each visitor sees session times converted to their own timezone. The picker is labelled “Pick a time · your time zone”. Almost always. It’s the default and FullHouse recommends it.
Fixed timezone Everyone sees times in the Webinar timezone you pick. The picker is labelled with the city, such as “Pick a time · London time”. When your audience is in one place and thinks of the event in that place’s time.

If you choose Fixed timezone, pick a Webinar timezone from the searchable list that appears.

This setting doesn’t decide when sessions run. Each schedule has its own timezone, which sets the wall-clock times of your sessions. For example, you can run sessions at 18:00 New York time and still show each visitor that time in their local zone.
