Sign-up page and hub

Write the challenge's sign-up page, set up its form, and control what attendees see on their personal hub.

Updated View as Markdown

A challenge has one public sign-up page, and every person who signs up gets a personal hub. This page covers both, plus what happens when someone signs up.

Write the sign-up page

Go to Challenges → your challenge → Sign-up page. The Sign-up page preview on the right updates as you type, and nothing is saved until you choose Save changes.

The pitch

Field What it does Default Limits
Label above the headline The small line above the headline “Free live training”. If you clear it, the page shows “Free 5-day challenge” with your number of days Up to 40 characters
Headline The main heading Your public title Up to 200 characters
Subheadline A sentence or two under the headline None Up to 400 characters
What they’ll learn A numbered list on the page under the heading “What you’ll learn”. Use Add a point None Up to 8 points, 200 characters each
Button The form’s submit button “Save my seat” Required, up to 60 characters

The page also shows your logo or workspace name, the presenter, the challenge’s Description under the subheadline, and your legal footer.

The form

The form always lists every day with its title, date and time under “One sign-up covers all 5 days”, shown in the visitor’s own time zone.

It always asks for First name and Email, both required. Challenges don’t offer last name or phone as form fields. If you need them, add a question.

Setting What it does Default Limits
Ask for consent Adds a tick box visitors must tick before they can join Off
Consent text The wording beside the box “I agree to receive emails about this webinar.” Up to 500 characters

Questions on the form

Choose Add question to ask something extra. Answers are saved with the person’s sign-up. If a field fails its check, the message shows on that field and in the save bar.

Setting What it does Limits
Question The wording visitors see Required, up to 200 characters
Answer type Short text or Choose one option
Required Visitors can’t submit without answering
Answer options (one per line, 2–10) The choices for Choose one option 2 to 10 different options, 120 characters each

You can add up to 5 questions. Text answers can be up to 1,000 characters.

Embed the form

The Embed card gives you code to put the sign-up in a popup on your own site. See Embeddable sign-up widget.

Share and preview the sign-up page

The buttons at the top of the challenge page:

Button What it does
Copy sign-up link Copies the public link to share
Preview (or View page once published) Opens the page with a banner reading “Preview: this is how visitors see your challenge page.”

Previews don’t count as visits and work before you publish. The form on that page is live: if you submit it while signed in, you’re really signed up and real emails go out, even on a draft. The Sign-up page preview beside the editor is only a picture. For a proper test, sign up from the copied link after publishing.

What happens when someone signs up

  • New email address: they’re enrolled in every day and sent straight to their personal hub. Day 1’s confirmation email goes out, reminders are planned for each day, and each day’s Registers automations run. registrant.created fires once, for Day 1.
  • An address already signed up: nothing changes, and their details aren’t updated. They see the “Find your personal link” page, and their hub link is emailed to them in a message titled “Your access link: your title”, at most once every 10 minutes. Showing the link on screen would let anyone open someone else’s hub by typing their email.
  • Upper and lower case: [email protected] and [email protected] count as the same person.
  • Tracking links: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content on the sign-up link are saved with the person.
  • Sign-ups don’t close by themselves. The page keeps accepting people until you pause the challenge, even after the last day. See Late joiners.

From one network, the sign-up form allows 10 sign-ups a minute. Past that, the visitor sees Too many attempts and “Please wait a minute, then try again.” Viewing the page doesn’t count, so people sharing a connection aren’t turned away for looking.

To add someone yourself, use Add registrant on any day’s Registrants tab.

Set up the hub

The hub is each person’s home for the challenge. Nobody logs in: the link itself identifies them, and every email they get links to it.

Go to Challenges → your challenge → Hub & days → The hub.

Setting What it does Default Limits
Doors open How many minutes before each start the hub invites people in 30 0 to 240, in steps of 5
Welcome line Intro text at the top of the hub, used when the next day has no summary and there’s no status message to show. On a phone it sits under the heading None Up to 300 characters
Replays in the hub Finished days link to their replay while it’s available On

Each day’s summary, note and worksheet are on its card below. See Set up each day.

Doors open only changes what the hub shows. The room’s own link works earlier if someone has it, showing the waiting room.

What attendees see on the hub

The hub follows the day it’s “about”: a day that’s live, otherwise one with doors open, otherwise the next one, and after the end the last one.

Moment Heading What they can do
Before a day “Hi Sam. Day 1 starts tomorrow evening.” See a countdown. The room button stays greyed out with the time it opens
Doors open “Doors are open, Sam.” Choose Enter the room, with “Starts in 12 min”
Live “Day 1 is live.” Choose Join now, while the room would still let them in
Between days “Hi Sam. Day 2 starts tonight.” Countdown to the next day, and on a phone, a “Finish Day 1 first” link if they missed part of it
After the last day “That’s a wrap, Sam.” Catch up with the replays that are still open

If someone leaves the hub open during a countdown, it takes them into the room when the session starts. This doesn’t happen if they arrive when a session is already running, or once the room has closed to them.

On a computer

A large countdown or join button sits at the top, followed by a row of tickets headed “Your three tickets”, one per day. The next day’s ticket is highlighted and tagged Up next, Today, Tonight, Doors open or Live now. Later tickets say “Tomorrow” or “In 3 days”, with “Finale” on the last. Beside that:

  • Progress such as “1 of 3 done”.
  • Add all three to my calendar, a single calendar file with every day and a 15-minute alert on each.
  • The next day’s worksheet with a Download button.
  • The next day’s note.
  • A reminder of “We’ll email you before each day” with the address they signed up with.

On a phone

One ticket shows at a time, with a row of day buttons at the bottom to switch between them. The ticket has its own countdown and an Add to calendar button for that day. The worksheet and note follow the day being viewed.

While doors are open the ticket says “The room is open”. While a day is live and they can still join, it says “You’ll join at the same point as everyone else”, and if replays are on, a note below adds “Can’t watch right now? The replay appears here after the session.” A finished day says “You’ve seen 53%” or “This day has finished”, with its replay button if the replay is open. A canceled day says “This day was canceled”.

After a day has finished

Ticket shows Meaning
Join now or Join Day 2 now The session is running and the room would let them in: up to 15 minutes from the start, or until the end for someone who has already been in
“The live session has passed” The session is running or over, and it’s too late to join. One of the lines below appears with it
Watch the replay The replay is open, and they saw little or none of it, or nearly all of it
Finish the replay The replay is open, and they saw between 5% and 90%
“Replay opens Thu, 5 Nov · 7:30 PM” The replay is waiting out a delay
“Replay closed” The replay has expired
“No replay for this day” Replay is off for that day, or Replays in the hub is off
Done They watched at least 90%
“24 of 45 min” or Not watched How far they got on a computer. A phone shows “You’ve seen 53%”

A replay link appears by itself when the replay opens, with no reload. While a day’s last session is still running but closed to entry, the hub can already say “That’s a wrap”, because no later day remains.

If you cancel a day’s session from that day’s Sessions tab, its ticket is crossed out and marked Canceled.

Preview the hub

Choose Hub above the preview on the right, then pick a moment under Show the hub:

Moment What it shows
Before Two days before Day 1
Doors open Day 1 with doors open
Live Day 1, a few minutes in
Next day Hours before Day 2
After After the last day

The preview uses a sample attendee called “Sam”. Unsaved wording shows straight away, but dates come from your saved schedule, so save first after changing them. Use the device buttons to switch between computer and phone. The buttons in the preview don’t go anywhere.

Tracking on these pages

Go to Challenges → your challenge → Tracking to add pixels and scripts to the sign-up page, its embedded form and each person’s hub. Choose Save changes when you’re done.

Field What it does Limits
Head scripts Added to the page’s head Up to 10,000 characters
Body scripts Added to the page’s body, at the end Up to 10,000 characters

The code runs the same way as a webinar’s tracking. Previews never run these scripts, so test on the public link.

Each day’s room runs its own tracking, set under that day’s Room & video in its Tracking step. Saving or publishing the challenge doesn’t touch a day’s tracking.

The UTM values on your sign-up link are saved with each person as well.

Brand the pages

The sign-up page and hub use your workspace’s brand colour, logo and legal footer. On the hub’s dark heading a logo is shown as solid white. Change these in Branding, where you can also turn off Show your name or logo on attendee pages.
