# AI assistant

This page sets up the AI connection for your workspace. Once connected, you can turn on an assistant for any webinar to answer questions attendees ask in the Q&A tab. The live chat isn't touched.

You turn it on and write what it knows on each webinar, in [AI answers](/webinars/ai-answers). This page only handles the connection.

Open **Workspace → AI assistant**.

## What you need

You need your own [OpenRouter](https://openrouter.ai) account and API key. OpenRouter charges you directly for what the assistant uses, and FullHouse doesn't add anything on top. FullHouse also has a daily limit on AI attempts, which resets at midnight UTC.

## Add your OpenRouter key

1. **Create a key**

Sign in at [openrouter.ai/keys](https://openrouter.ai/keys), create a key and copy it. It starts with `sk-or-`. Make sure your OpenRouter account has credit.
2. **Paste it into FullHouse**

Paste it into **OpenRouter API key** and click **Save settings**. The key is stored encrypted and isn't shown again. To keep a saved key when saving this page again, leave the field blank.
3. **Test it**

Click **Test connection**. You should see a message saying the connection is verified.
4. **Turn it on for a webinar**

Open your webinar, go to its **AI answers** step, switch the assistant on and write its context. See [AI answers](/webinars/ai-answers).

## Fields and buttons

| Item | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **OpenRouter API key** | Your key. Up to 200 characters. |
| **Model** | Read only. FullHouse uses `openai/gpt-6-luna` with low reasoning effort for everyone, and you can't change it. |
| **Save settings** | Saves the key. |
| **Test connection** | Appears once a key is saved. Sends a small test request. You can run it three times a minute. |
| **Remove key** | Appears once a key is saved. Asks you to confirm. Webinar assistants stop answering. |

## If the test fails

| Message | What it means | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| AI provider returned HTTP 401. | OpenRouter doesn't recognise the key. | Create a new key and paste it in. |
| AI provider returned HTTP 402. | Your OpenRouter account is out of credit. | Add credit at OpenRouter. |
| AI provider returned HTTP 404. | OpenRouter couldn't serve the model for your account. | Check your OpenRouter account's model and provider restrictions. |
| AI provider returned HTTP 429. | OpenRouter is rate limiting your account. | Wait and try again. |
| AI is not configured for this workspace. | No key is saved. | Add a key. |
| Today's AI limit has been reached. It resets at midnight UTC. | Your workspace has reached its daily limit on AI attempts. | Wait until midnight UTC. |
| AI answers aren't available right now. | AI is switched off across FullHouse for the moment. | Try again later, and answer in your [Questions](/run/questions) inbox meanwhile. |
| Too many attempts. Please retry later. | You ran the test more than three times in a minute. | Wait a minute. |

## What happens during a webinar

When an attendee asks a question and the assistant is on, it answers within moments, in one to four sentences, using only the context you wrote. It won't reveal offer details before your offer appears on the timeline.

If the AI can't answer, the attendee isn't shown an error. The question stays in your [Questions](/run/questions) list for you to answer, and you can reply yourself at any time. This also happens if your key stops working, your credit runs out, or a limit is reached, so check your Questions list after your first few sessions.

:::tip
Test with a real question. Register for your own webinar, ask something from your context and something off-topic, and check both answers before you go live.
