# Set up each day

Each day of a challenge is its own webinar with its own video, room, timeline and emails. You set up the wording in the challenge and everything in the room inside that day's webinar.

## Open a day

Go to **Challenges → your challenge → Hub & days**. Every day has a card showing its number, its date and time in your browser's time zone, and a status:

| Status | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| **Video ready** | The day's video passed validation and has a known length |
| **Needs a video** | The day has no working video. You can't publish until it does |

Choose **Room & video** on a card to open that day's webinar editor. The breadcrumb at the top leads back to the challenge, and the header shows "Day 2 of 5".

## Fill in the day's card

These fields live on the challenge, in **Hub & days**. Choose **Save changes** when you're done.

| Field | What attendees see | Limits |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Title** | The day's name on the sign-up page, hub, room and emails. Starts as `Your title — Day 1`, so give each day a proper name | Required, up to 160 characters |
| **One-line summary** | Shown at the top of the hub when this day is next, under the heading on a phone | Up to 300 characters |
| **Note when doors open** | A quote-style note on the hub, headed "A note from Maya" or, with no presenter, "Before Day 2" on a computer and "Before you join" on a phone | Up to 600 characters |
| **Worksheet title** | The name of the day's download. Shows as "Worksheet" if you leave it blank | Up to 120 characters |
| **Worksheet link** | Where the download points. Paste an `https://` link, or use **Choose a file from Media** | Up to 500 characters |

The worksheet appears only once it has a link. A title alone shows nothing.

:::note
Despite its label, **Note when doors open** doesn't wait for doors to open. It shows as soon as the day becomes the next one on the hub, so write it to read well a day ahead.
:::

See how these look on the hub in [Sign-up page and hub](/challenges/registration-hub).

## Set up the day's webinar

Follow the normal [webinar guides](/webinars) for each step that applies:

| Step in **Set up** | Applies to a day? | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Video](/webinars/video) | **Yes, required** | Every day needs a working video before you can publish |
| [Waiting room](/webinars/waiting-room) | Yes | Shown before that day's session starts |
| [Room timeline](/webinars/timeline) | Yes | [Offers](/webinars/offers), [polls](/webinars/polls) and [simulated chat](/webinars/simulated-chat) per day |
| [Chat & questions](/webinars/chat-questions) | Yes | Set per day |
| [AI answers](/webinars/ai-answers) | Yes | Set per day |
| [Replay](/webinars/replay) | Yes | Controls when that day's replay opens and closes. See [Replays](#set-the-replay-for-each-day) |
| [Reminder emails](/webinars/reminder-emails) | Yes | See [Challenge emails](/challenges/emails) |
| [Follow-up emails](/webinars/follow-up-emails) | Yes | Off by default on challenge days |
| [Automations](/webinars/automations) | Yes | Set per day. A challenge sign-up runs each day's **Registers** rules once, for that day's registration, including days that have already finished. A repeat sign-up doesn't run them again |
| [Details](/webinars/details) | Partly | The title here is the same as the card's **Title**. The presenter and time zone are replaced by the challenge's on every save. The description goes into that day's calendar file |
| [Registration page](/webinars/registration-page) | Partly | The form isn't used, but the label above the headline and the points under **What you'll learn** show in that day's waiting room |
| [Schedule](/webinars/schedule) | No | The challenge sets the day's session. Rules added here don't move it |
| [Thank-you page](/webinars/thank-you-page) | No | Challenge attendees go to their hub instead |
| [Tracking](/webinars/tracking) | Yes | Runs in that day's room. The sign-up page and hub use the challenge's own [Tracking section](/challenges/registration-hub#tracking-on-these-pages) |
| [Go live](/webinars/go-live) | No | Publish from the challenge. Trying here fails with the message below |

Points under **What they'll learn** on the challenge's sign-up page don't show in a day's waiting room. The waiting room reads from the day's own **Registration page** step, so add them there.

## Buttons to leave alone on a day

The header of a day's webinar has the same buttons as any webinar. Several don't suit a day:

| Button | What happens on a day |
| --- | --- |
| **Publish** | Opens **Not ready to publish yet**, with "Publish this day from its challenge so registration stays connected to the challenge hub." and an **Open the challenge** button, plus a message asking you to add a video if the day has no working one |
| **Copy registration link** | Copies that day's own registration address. Visitors see **This page isn't available** because a day is never published. Share the challenge's link instead |
| **Delete…** | Opens **Manage this day from its challenge**: "This is Day 2 of *(challenge)*, so it can't be deleted on its own. To remove it, change the number of days on the challenge. To delete everything, delete the challenge." Choose **Close** or **Open the challenge** |
| **Duplicate** | Makes a separate draft webinar that isn't part of the challenge. Useful for reusing a day as a standalone webinar |

## How long a day runs

A day's session lasts as long as its video. Replacing the video with a longer or shorter one updates the end time of any session that hasn't started, and the timing of its follow-up emails.

The hub uses that length too: "with Maya · 45 min", and "32 of 45 min" on the day's ticket afterwards.

## When people can join

The hub shows **Enter the room** when doors open and **Join now** once the session starts. **Join now**, **Join Day 2 now** and the automatic move into the room only appear while the room would let the person in. The room applies a fixed rule on every challenge day:

- **Before the start:** the waiting room, however early they arrive.
- **First 15 minutes:** they join at the same point as everyone else.
- **After 15 minutes:** anyone who hasn't already joined sees "The live session has passed". It reads "It's too late to join this day live. The replay will be on your challenge hub once it opens.", or "Everything for the days ahead is on your challenge hub." when there's no replay in the hub, with a **Back to your challenge hub** button.
- **Already in the room:** someone who joined in time can leave and come back until the session ends.

You can't change the 15-minute window on a challenge day, because it comes from schedule settings days don't have. After that window, the hub's ticket for the day says "The live session has passed", with [what they can do instead](/challenges/registration-hub#after-a-day-has-finished).

## Set the replay for each day

Each day has its own [Replay](/webinars/replay) settings. By default the replay opens as soon as the session ends and closes 72 hours later. When it opens, the replay link appears on the hub by itself, with no reload.

**Replays in the hub**, in **Hub & days**, decides whether the hub links to those replays. It doesn't open or close them. A day's replay link appears on the hub only when both of these are true:

- **Replays in the hub** is on.
- That day's replay is currently available, according to its Replay settings.

For a challenge, think about the last day when you set expiry. If you want people to be able to catch up on Day 1 until the offer closes, a 72-hour expiry on Day 1 may run out first on a longer challenge. Use a longer expiry, or a fixed date.

## Check a day is ready

A day is ready when its card shows **Video ready**. The challenge's [publish check](/challenges/publish-manage#publish) looks only at videos, so run through the rest yourself: the timeline, offers, waiting room, and emails.

Watching a real session yourself counts as attendance, which [locks the challenge's schedule](/challenges/publish-manage#change-the-schedule), so finish any date changes before you test a day for real. Afterwards, you can [delete your test sign-up](/run/registrants#registrants-in-a-challenge) from any day's **Registrants** tab, which removes you from the whole challenge.
